I used to be a bit scared of watercolouring, but then I used our fabulous quality watercolour paper and realised what a difference that made. It is so easy to blend the colours and you don’t get any pilling of the paper by going over and over to blend the colours.
To watercolour with Stampin’ Up! Ink Pads, you just need Water Painters or Blender Pens, Watercolour Paper and any colour ink pad. Just squeeze the ink pad while it is closed to allow some ink to collect in the lid. Then use that to dip the Waterpainter or Blender Pen into, and onto the watercolour paper. If you want a lighter colour add some water to the ink (make sure you wipe it down with a paper towel before you close the lid again) . or you can also spray some ink onto the stamped image. When using watercolour techniques, always be sure to stamp your images in Stazon ink so the lines don’t run.
Here’s a video showing you some of these tips in action.
Here’s some other images I coloured in the past using Water Painters and the inside lid of my stamp pads. This retired stamp set is For The Birds which is a delightful collection of 7 images and greetings for all occasions.
