Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Wishes Card Idea

by | Oct 15, 2024 | Embossing Folders, Stamping and Papercraft Techniques, Thinking of You or Get Well Cards | 1 comment

Today I have a Stamp[in Up Thoughtful Wishes card idea for you, that also features a subtle technique with embossing folders.

A card with the words 'Thinking of You' in warm earthy colours. There is a circle with foliage die cuts attached, on top of an embossed background. The background has had ink brayered over the raised part. Made using Stampin Up Thoughtful Wishes bundle.

For the background of the card, I used a subtle technique using the Cute Crochet embossing folder. Here is a look at the folder.

The embossed layer is Basic Beige, and before I adhered to the card I wanted to give more definition to the embossing. I used the Stampin’ Brayer, which is silicone, to brayer Basic Beige ink over the top. I find this silicone brayer really effective for this technique, however I prefer a rubber brayer for giving more ink coverage for other brayering techniques.

Here’s a closer look at the effect from the brayering over the embossing.

Colour Combination & Card Instructions

Here is a look at the colour combination for this card. I started with a Moody Mauve card base, and my embossed layer is Basic Beige. I have a Spotlight in Nature circle die cut in Moody Mauve. The foliage die cuts are in Blackberry Bliss, Wild Wheat and Pebbled Path.

My sentiment is stamped in Pebbled Path onto Basic Beige. For embellishing the card, I used my go to Linen Thread double bow, as well as the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems. There are three tones in these gems and one of them has more of a red undertone, which coordinates really well with Moody Mauve.

The Thoughtful Wishes dies are a really great foliage set. I find I use these types of dies quite a lot on a variety of projects. There is also a coordinating stamp set but I haven’t used it on this project. I used the sentiment from Simply Said stamp set instead. I find I use this stamp set a lot!

This is such a gorgeous card Claire. I used the coordinating DSP instead of an embossing folder.

    Thanks for sharing.
