Hello friends. It’s great to be back with some creations using the Stampin’ Up! Modern Christmas suite for Heart of Christmas week 4. I hope you are enjoying hopping along with some of our friendly Art with Heart team members each week. It’s great to be building up a nice collection of Christmas cards this early. It makes me feel very organised! One of my goals is to also complete the center of each card as I go and I am on track for that so far – go me!!

I have to be honest with you, usually I am a traditional colours girl when it comes to Christmas cards. So these colours were a little harder for me to work with. However I was determined to have a go as I know the suite is very popular. I put together a paper share each time we get a new catalogue, so I had a share of the papers to play with. Here’s what I came up with.

Two black, gold and white 2025 Christmas cards using Stampin' Up! Modern Christmas suite

About the Stampin’ Up! Modern Christmas Suite

First, let’s have a closer look at the Modern Christmas suite (all the product links are at the end of the post). This suite is one of the online exclusive suites, and there are lots of coordinating goodies.

Here’s a look at everything that comes in the suite for $157. The included Ornamental Christmas bundle is really versatile. Great images, included sentiments and big bold dies that can be used with many different papers and cardstock colours. The Black and White and Gold Bakers Twine is also a favourite. It has an amazing texture which holds it’s shape really well.

Finally, here’s a closer look at the Modern Christmas Designer Series Paper. One side has fabulous gold foiling, and the other side black and white imagery, patterns or text.

Let’s have a closer look at each of my cards.

Stampin’ Up! Modern Christmas Suite Card 1

For my first card, I have gone with blocks of the DSP, highlighted by gold foil.

Here are the measurements for a standard metric sized card (10.5 x 14.85cm):

  • The gold foil piece is 9.5cm x 13.8cm
  • Each of the small pieces of patterned paper are 9.1cm x 3.2cm

Then all we needed was a big bold gold foil star, some of the bakers twine, and a sentiment. The pre-printed gold foil sentiments from the Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera Packs are a great match for this suite. There’s quite a lot of dimension in the centre as I have popped the star up on Dimensionals and added the bakers twine. Adding double Dimensionals under the centre sentiment helped keep that in place.

Stampin’ Up! Modern Christmas Suite Card 2

Here is my second Modern Christmas suite card. The central image is punched from one of the DSP sheets, so that is a quick card you could make multiples of.

Here are the measurements for this one for a standard metric sized card (10.5 x 14.85cm).

  • The base DSP is 9.8cm x 14.2cm.
  • The tree image is cut out with a 2 1/4″ circle punch, and the gold foil circle is punch with a 2 3/8″ circle punch.
  • The banner piece under the circle is 3.7cm x 11cm before the banner end is cut. The banner end is 1cm inwards.

One of the things I like about this die set is the ‘cut your own embellishments’ that come with it. There is a star, and also these cute star/diamonds which are great for embellishing. Finally I have added another of the Greetings for All embellishments.

Two fabulous Christmas cards, Claire. I love the way you’ve used the bakers twine under the big bold gold foil star. The sentiment is just perfect as well. And yes, this suite is perfect for DIY embellishments too!

Two gorgeous cards Claire. Like you I wasn’t sure about this “modern colour combo”, however, I love how you have used the Special DSP. Your cards are striking. You are right, the Greetings For You are brilliant with the SDSP.

Both beautiful cards, showcasing the Modern Christmas Specialty papers. I love anything with gold foil and those sentiments are just brilliant to compliment your projects.

Even though you say you prefer the traditional Christmas colours, both of these cards are lovely and the DIY embellishments complement them perfectly.
