Today we are playing with Stampin Up Magnolia Mood bundle to give you inspiration for a DIY birthday card. This bundle is in the Online Exclusives section in my online store. Just a reminder to go online to view these products (they aren’t in any catalogues). However, you can still purchase them in any of the usual three ways with me. You can order online, direct via phone or email, or by adding to a starter kit (see details here).

How to make the Stampin Up Magnolia Mood Birthday Card
- I started with a base of Smoky Slate cardstock.
- Next, emboss a cardfront sized piece of Basic White cardstock in the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder.
- I added Bubble Bath ink to the embossed cardstock using a brayer. Video Tutorial: Watch the video on my YouTube channel about two ways to add ink to embossed cardstock.
- Next I trimmed this piece by 1cm (or about 3/8″) on the long and short edges. Then I added it to a thin mat of Bubble Bath cardstock and attached to the base card.
- Next, cut a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock the width of your card and about 6.5cm (2 1/2″). Emboss this piece in the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. Secondly, attach this piece to a thin mat of Bubble Bath cardstock. The mat should only show at the top and bottom. Finally attach to the card.
- Next I stamped the Stampin Up Magnolia Mood image in Smoky Slate ink onto Basic White cardstock. Stampin’ Blends are perfect to use with this image. I used light Old Olive for the leaves, and light and dark Bubble Bath for parts of the flower. I die cut the image and added it to the card using Dimensionals.
- Finally I added a stamped sentiment from the Magnolia Mood stamp set. I used Smoky Slate ink. Finally I added a few clear embellishments from the Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Can I buy Magnolia Mood or is shipping very expensive to the states? Thanks, Donna Parker
Hi Donna, We aren’t able to sell Stampin’ Up! products to the US. but there are lots of demonstrators in the US. It’s actually retired now, so it would be a case of finding a demonstrator who had one to sell second hand.
