Stamping Technique: Collage Stamping

Hello friends. Today I have a ‘thinking of you’ card using the new Quiet Meadow bundle in the Stampin Up Australia 2021 Annual Catalogue. We will also be using a stamping technique called collage stamping.

“Collage” was originally a French word, derived from the word coller, meaning “to paste.” The stamping interpretation of that is to combine a variety of themed stampings, balanced in both colour and composition. That’s easy to do when you have multiple coordinating stamps in a set, like we do with the Stampin’ Up! sets. Here’s a look at the complete card. The light has caught the Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper so it looks like two different colours, but it isn’t. This paper is really pretty.

I started with a base of Crumb Cake cardstock. I have stamped one layer of the collage stamping in Crumb Cake ink. This is just basically layering the stamps to give the coverage and composition you want. I also used  Early Espresso to add another layer on the collage, and carried that colour through to the stamping on the sentiment.
